Wobbly Bob Wins!
Every Tuesday, we have our Cask Critics day – where many turn out to try our range of local cask ales. The Royal Oak have been serving ales from Phoenix Brewery since we first opened in June 2016, and none have been quite as popular as this fruity, malty and even caramel hinted ale that is ‘Wobbly Bob’! From young adults, to the more mature drinker – this is a pint that has had everyone won over!
We find ourselves flying through the Barrels! The amber coloured ale, is popular with customers and staff. When this Phoenix ale is one our pumps – Royal Oak bartenders such as; Steven and Sam can be heard discussing their love of this ale, and how excited they are to finish a pint off after work.
What does it taste like?
Well… some say it has ‘hidden hops’ and a dry finish, whilst others comment on it’s nutty and bitter orange hints. In a nutshell – it could be described as mainly, malty and slightly sweet.
It’s Body is Medium, it’s a ‘smooth, nice’ pint of cask ale. Slightly oily, yet soft to drink.
It could be described as ‘dangerous’ as this ale is almost ‘too drinkable’ and it comes in at 6%, so a few pints in and you might be a bit of a ‘Wobbly Bob’…
Tuesday’s £2.30 pints!
Why not stop by every Tuesday to try any one of our cask ales for just £2.30 a pint! There’s bound to be an ale for everyone! All ales rotate and so every week there’s a different one to try!
We have our ALE TRAIN (every day) – buy 12 pints of cask ale in ANY of our pubs (e.g Little Fifteens and The Raven) and get your 13th for free! Come on in and collect a card from the bar to get started!
